About

Hey. It’s been a while.

I started Gamer Temple as a gaming meme page to help promote the games I was making. Now it’s back as a place to actually play them, and to learn how they’re built.

The story so far

  1. 2014, age 15

    Building games in Xcode

I taught myself to code and published a couple of games to the App Store, Bad Jetpack and Cake Take. Back then, making a game meant learning to code, design and model, and figuring out a lot on your own.

  2. Then

    Life happened

I went to college, tried computer science, moved into marketing, and game development got pushed aside. The ideas didn’t stop, though. I’ve got 200+ of them sitting in notebooks.

  3. Now

    AI changed things

That doesn’t mean developers aren’t needed. I’m using AI as a tool to learn faster and become a better programmer and game designer, understanding the code and systems behind everything I build.

The first games

Built in Xcode, published to the App Store. Both have since been removed.

Bad Jetpack on the App Store
May 2014, iPhone

Bad Jetpack

My first app. A pixel-art jetpack game, released for free.

Cake Take on the App Store
2015, iPhone

Cake Take

My second iPhone game, pixel art again, with a 5-star rating on the App Store.

What this is

A playground

My creative outlet, mostly just for fun. Free games to play. If one takes off, it could head to Steam or the App Store.

Learn in public

Playthroughs, tutorials, the tools, the mistakes. How each game actually gets made.

You help decide

Tell me which one sucks, which one you love, and which one gets a Part 2.

For the young monk out there.

If you’re 15 with a game idea and don’t know how to code it yet, I want this page to help you build it and actually understand how it works. So you don’t have to shelve that dream for 12 years like I did.
